From the USDA Forest Service:
After many years of work and your input, the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests have published the revised forest plan and final environmental impact statement (FEIS) on Wednesday August 30th, 2023. The legal notice published in the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel will initiate a 60-day objection filing period. A link to all materials for the revised forest plan and EIS as well as instructions for objection filing will be published at the Forest Plan webpage: Grand Mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests - Planning (usda.gov) The National Forest Foundation and the GMUG National Forests will host two virtual webinars and one in person. This is a great opportunity to receive an overview of the plan, changes made between draft and final, and an outline of the objection process. Each meeting will contain identical content and will provide an opportunity for viewers to choose an option that fits their schedule. These are NOT objection or resolution meetings. We appreciate your support and input in making it to this important milestone. See you on the trail!
