​Serve as cooperator and liaison at meetings involving federal, state, and local government policies and analyses that affect agriculture in Colorado.  Represent the department in its capacity as a cooperating agency with federal agencies.  Serve as liaison among agricultural and conservation interests, other state agencies, local government representatives, federal officials, and legislators.   Participate in livestock industry meetings to understand and interpret how regulatory requirements and changes could impact agricultural lands and production.
 
Provides analytical and technical expertise on Colorado agriculture to working groups consisting of government officials at all levels to identify and resolve differences and to create comments, policy, and implementation plans which enhance proposed federal and state statutes, regulations, plans, programs, and activities critical to the survival of a viable agricultural industry and the natural resources of Colorado.
 
Track and engage the Division and industry on agriculture and natural resource related proposals from the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Department of Agriculture.  This will include extensive travel to areas of the state where federal lands are located.
