2019 Poster Contest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CACD ANNOUNCES 2019 POSTER CONTEST WINNERS

On Wednesday November 20th, the Colorado Association of Conservation Districts (CACD), officially announced the winners of the 2019 Poster Contest during the 75th Annual Meeting, held in Colorado Springs, CO.
Executive Director, Bobbi Ketels commends the efforts of the Colorado Conservation Districts and their efforts each year in working with their local schools and students on the State Poster Contest. The districts of Colorado go out of their way to work with and engage with the youth of our state; creating interest and teaching them how to become good stewards of the land,”
It is with great pleasure to award our top three who have done a remarkable job in capturing and explaining the theme of this year’s Poster Contest “Life in the Soil – Dig Deeper.”
1st place - Bryson Schneider - Conejos Conservation District
2nd place - Kekoa Hilbert - High Plains Conservation District
3rd place - Mackenzie Corwin - Yuma County Conservation District
The top three posters in the Colorado state contest will receive monetary prizes. First place winners will receive $100; second place winners will receive $75 and third place winners will receive $50.
The poster from our first-place winner, Bryson Schneider, has been submitted to NACD as the Colorado Association nominee in the 2020 NACD national competition.
The national poster contest is open to public, private and home-schooled students. The top three posters in each category of the national contest will receive monetary prizes. First place winners will receive $200; second place winners will receive $150 and third place winners will receive $100. The NACD Auxiliary – through their quilt project proceeds, the Country Store at the NACD Annual Meeting and individual donors – sponsor prizes at the national level.
The 74th Annual Meeting of the National Association of Conservation Districts will take place in Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 8-12, 2020. For more information as it becomes available, visit NACD’s Annual Meeting webpage.

Next year’s Poster Contest theme is “Where would we BEE without Pollinators?” 2020 poster contest materials will be available on the CACD website no later than December 31st, 2019.
